Marie Faye Biggs, 82, of Benton; died at 3:45 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011 in the Mt. Vernon Healthcare Center.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2011 in the Leffler - Poulson Funeral Home of Benton, with Rev. David Wiggins officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Leffler - Poulson Funeral Home of Benton. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2011 in the Memory Lane Memorial Park Chapel in Crown Point, Indiana, with Rev. Thomas McDonnell officiating. Leffler - Poulson Funeral Home of Benton is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Biggs was born June 23, 1928 in Benton, the daughter of Clarence Tate and Beulah (Cole) Tate. She married Dalton Williams and he preceded her in death.
Marie was a homemaker and was of the Baptist Faith. Before her health failed she attended the Steel City Missionary Baptist Church of Benton. Marie loved working with children and especially the Grandmothers Helping Children Program.
Marie is survived by two sons: Danny Williams and wife Pat of Crown Point, IN, David Williams and wife Diane of Crown Point, IN; a daughter: Darlene and husband Randy Ruhl of Golden, CO; her adopted children: Dolly Marie Clifton, Rose Peterson, Linda Williams, Herbert Williams, George Williams and Vickie Sims; a host of grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; two sisters: Beulah Overturf of Christopher, Alice and husband Rick Schablowsky of Mulkeytown; and three brothers: Clarence Tate of St. John, IN, Charles Tate and wife Delorus of Benton, and Larry Tate of Benton; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband.
