Obituary:
Mardell Fern “Ginger” Gingles, age 83, of Benton; passed away Monday, April 2, 2018 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018 in the Leffler Funeral Home, with Rev. Steven Flach officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic & Odd Fellows Cemetery of Benton. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Leffler Funeral Home.

Mardell Fern Gingles was born on May 13, 1934 in Summerfield, OK, the daughter of Jeff David Parks and Elsie (Dunn) Parks. She married Joseph Gingles, JR. on July 14, 1969, and he preceded her in death on February 26, 2011

Mrs. Gingles and her late husband formerly owned and operated Gingles 1 Bar in Glenview, IL, and Gingles 2 Bar in Christopher.

She enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of her family. She liked eating out especially at Red Lobster and loved to watch old classic Western movies on television. When she was younger she enjoyed palying and watching basketball.

She and her late husband formerly attended the Faith Baptist Church of Benton.
Mrs. Gingles is survived by her daughter Jacqueline Rohr of Elk Grove, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter Karol Rohr; and a son Mark Rohr.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Faith Baptist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.

What a fabulous lady and one heck of a cook! No one ever starved when Ma was around. I will never forget the day she told me my husband was a very good looking man and how polite he was. She will be sorely missed by many.
