Obituary:
Harriet Marie Adelsberger, age 69 of West City, died at 12:37 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at the Herrin Hospital.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2012 at the Leffler - Poulson Funeral Home of Benton, with Pastor Ronnie Shelton officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the time of the Memorial service at the Leffler - Poulson Funeral Home of Benton.

Marie was born on December 12, 1942 the daughter of Earl Johns and Amy (Willimas) Johns.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed watching soap operas. But most of all she was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan, watching and/or listening to every game that she could.

Marie was of the Seventh Day Adventist faith.

Surviving is a son Terry Johns and wife Brenda of Benton, a daughter Vicki Johns of Eddyville, KY; her former husband and longtime friend Glen Adelsberger of West Frankfort; grandchildren Jason Johns and wife Liz of Savannah, GA, Nicole and husband Justin Jones of Bardwell, KY, Aaron Dodd, Kyle Dodd, Cassandra Dodd and Jordan Dodd all of Eddyville, KY, Kacie Allen of St. Louis; great-grandchildren Alexis Jones, Sean Andrew Jones and Akia Marie Dodd; two sisters Cynthia Case and Eva Summers both of West Frankfort; two brothers Howard Johns and wife Susie and Ray Johns and wife Ruby also of West Frankfort; and several nieces and nephews.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, a son Todd Adelsberger, and two brothers Vernon and Charles Johns.

Memorial contributions may be made to the organization of the donor's choice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
